Hello
Members,
Here we are
again, the beginning of June and another wonderful few months of summer. During the short days of the winter it seems
like this time will never arrive.
Finally we can head outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, trying to
forget ice and snow for at least a short time.
What an
exciting year this has been! After
assuming the office of President last July, the first order of business was
working on the chapter’s strategic plan.
Soon after that the International Conference in New Orleans
arrived. Attending this event will
always be a high point for me. NOLA is a
beautiful city full of warm, friendly, people who welcomed the IAAP attendees
with open arms. It was a week filled
with learning, laughter and the cementing of new friendships that I hope will
last for many years. Fall found us at
Thumper Pond in Ottertail, Minnesota for the Division Fall Conference. Once again, it was a terrific weekend that
proved to be invaluable for our career growth. In May, the Rochester Chapter
hosted the Division Annual Spring Conference.
This too was a terrific weekend with great speakers and the election of
Division officers for the upcoming year.
North
Suburban Chapter has the honor of having our immediate past President, Linda
Dahlquist, being elected the new President-elect of the MN/ND/SD Division. Way to go Linda! You will be terrific in this new role and we
look forward to you having great success in the position.
As my term
as president is coming to an end I want to thank all of the board members,
committee chairs and volunteers that helped make this another successful year
for NSC. Due to their hard work and
dedication the chapter had a successful Open House in October, a great APW
event in April and valuable speakers at our meetings. Their tireless efforts are greatly
appreciated along with their friendship.
Thanks so much ladies, it couldn’t have been done without your hard
work! I really feel blessed that I was
surrounded by so many wonderful people.
It made my job so much easier.
Starting on
July 1st, Barb Tripp will take over as the new President of NSC, and
Nena Andor-Wuollet CPS/CAP will be your President-Elect. Please join me in giving them as much support
as you can to assist them in their new roles.
I look forward to the upcoming year and all of the challenges it may
bring us.
Once again,
thank you for allowing me the honor of being your President for the past
year. I enjoyed being in this position
and hope to continue serving NSC in the future.
Linda
Hampton
President
