  President's September Report

Welcome back to the 2010-2011 NSC year! The theme this year is “Passion & Purpose.”

Hope your summer went well, that you had time to enjoy what you liked doing best, and that you are as eager as I am to begin the 2010-2011 year. On a most positive note – congratulations! We are a Chapter of Excellence!! Thank you to each and every one of you; we as a whole became a Chapter of Excellence! Well done!

Your Board has been busy! The July Board meeting focused on the Strategic Plan. The highlights of the strategic plan are:

By June 30, 2011, the NSC will increase/maintain its membership to qualify for the Chapter of Excellence.

NSC will participate in chapter fundraising that will ensure financial stability.

The NSC will encourage membership engagement through active participation and track involvement

The August Board meeting focused on the 2010-11 Budget and you will view it at the September meeting.

We are still looking for members to become involved in Committees, so if you are good at details, organization, and like to plan events, please consider joining the October Open House committee. Contact Karin Bartz, CPS/CAP or Lori Krouse, CPS/CAP if you are interested.

If you enjoy helping others, directing people to resources, and like working with reference materials, then you may be interested in joining the CPS/CAP Education Committee. Just let me know!

This year we will again be striving to obtain Chapter of Excellence and members becoming Members of Excellence. Show Passion & Purpose by making this one of your goals; make a real commitment to become a Member of Excellence. Review the criteria to see what you need to qualify and to periodically take out your folder and to work diligently to become a Member of Excellence. “Git ‘er done.”

Also, to all the members who became CPS, CAP, and/or CPS/CAP certified, congratulations to you! Your designation is something to be proud of and I personally want to let you know how pleased I am for your success to become certified! Good job!

I look forward to seeing you at the NSC meeting on September 16! Until then, be safe and keep smiling!

Nena Andor-Wuollet, CPS/CAP
President 2010-2011
